Breakfast Server – Coffee + Cocktails | Gansevoort Meatpacking

Gansevoort Meatpacking is seeking an experienced, energetic, and hospitality-driven   Server   to join the team at   Coffee + Cocktails, our hotel lobby bar.

Coffee + Cocktails opens daily at  7:00 AM, serving hotel guests and local patrons throughout the day. We are looking for someone who enjoys creating memorable guest experiences, works well in a fast-paced environment, and can transition seamlessly between morning coffee service and cocktail and dining service later in the day.

Schedule flexibility is essential for this position.   Candidates must be available to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including   early morning shifts beginning at 6:45 AM, as well as daytime, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.

The ideal candidate will have strong food and beverage knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for hospitality.   Previous Barista experience is a significant plus, as the role may assist with or support coffee and espresso beverage service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide warm, professional, and attentive food and beverage service.
• Greet guests, present menus, explain offerings, and make knowledgeable recommendations.
• Take and accurately enter food and beverage orders.
• Deliver food, coffee, cocktails, wine, and other beverages according to service standards.
• Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, cocktails, wines, and coffee offerings.
• Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests.
• Process guest payments accurately and follow all cash-handling and POS procedures.
• Complete opening, closing, side work, restocking, and cleaning responsibilities.
• Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked tables and service stations.
• Communicate allergies, dietary restrictions, and special requests accurately to the appropriate team members.
• Work closely with Bartenders, Baristas, Runners, Bussers, Culinary team members, and Management to ensure seamless service.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, responsible alcohol service, and workplace safety requirements.
• Assist with coffee and espresso beverage preparation when needed and appropriately trained.
• Perform other duties, responsibilities, and special projects as assigned by management to support business and operational needs.

Qualifications:

• Previous Server experience in a hotel, upscale restaurant, lobby bar, or high-volume hospitality environment preferred.
• Barista and espresso beverage experience is a strong plus.
• Excellent guest service and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Ability to remain professional and composed in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with POS systems and payment processing.
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.
• Must have the flexibility and reliable transportation necessary to report for  6:45 AM start times, as well as other scheduled shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($11.35) plus tips
